Is the estimate binding and paid?
No, the estimate is free of charge. It is also non-binding until a written, mutually signed agreement. The estimate is valid until its expiry date (on average 14-60 days).
How do payments work and what are common terms? Typical terms include one or two payments:
I. upfront (e.g. 30–50%) and II. after the finalisation remaining (50-70%).
In case of bigger projects, there might be an additional payment arranged in the middle of the project.

How does the process usually look like?
1. We have a first meeting (video or in person) to discuss the project (scope, timing, financial).
2. You receive a detailed Estimate and Agreement. We arrange the details and sign a contract.
3. You receive drafts and give your feedback. After an agreed amount of correction rounds you can preview the final version.
4. After the final payment you receive all the final files and the rights you ordered are transferred to you.
More detailed project stages are discussed first and specified in the Estimate.
How long does it take to make corrections or implement feedback?
For smaller changes it usually take 2-5 working days to answer and send updates. Bigger changes might take 3-7 working days and you will be informed ahead about it. Weekends and public holidays are not considered working days.
Can I use the drafts for other projects or purposes?
Normally you obtain the rights only to use the final design you pay for. If you would like to use other versions rejected during the feedback process, they can be purchased as additional deliverables.
Can I use the final files for anything I want? The scope of use depends on the rights you obtain. They are specified in the estimate. Rights might be limited by time, location, medium. Additional rights can be obtained for individual price.

Will I get the open files?
It depends if it is agreed upon and specified in the Estimate/Agreement. The open files are not automatically included and usually not needed. In case of design templates we would discuss the format and tools for editing.
What is a "feedback round" and how many are included?
Usually there are 2-3 feedback rounds included, depending on complexity of the project. It is specified in the Estimate.
How do I give feedback and communicate?
You can choose to communicate by e-mail, video-call or workspace tool like Notion or Google. To ensure mutual understanding and efficiency, it is greatly appreciated to send a consistent feedback at one time. Multiple messages after the work begins are considered . Changes in Text and design layout can be marked on the images or inserted in PDF as comments (e.g. with free Adobe Acrobat). Voice memos and private Instagram messages might be overlooked and are not considered as actual feedback.
What are the "usage rights" and how can I get them?
They describe the areas of exploitation for you, the client. They are defined according to your needs and written in the contract. The broader the rights, the more you can use the final project for, however that also increases the cost. They depend on multiple factors such as:
- Type of use: non-commercial (private use), commercial (marketing purposes), editing, full-buyout (all rights included)
- Exclusivity: exclusive (you are the only right holder) and non-exclusive
- Duration (e.g., 1, 3 years vs perpetual)
- Territory (e.g. inland/Austria, international/DACH, EU, worldwide)
- Media types (e.g. digital/web, social media, print, packaging)

What’s the difference between licensing and full copyright transfer/buyout?
License: You get permission to use the work under defined terms, while the creator keeps ownership. It is the most common type of agreement.
Transfer: You become the owner of the copyright (requires a written agreement). Full transfers increases the cost significantly.
What if the project is delayed or cancelled?
If the cancellation lays on the client's side, the designer can expect renumeration according to the stage of the project. It is specified in the Agreement.
The remaining payment is due after the work completion. The transfer of rights occurs after payment.
